Medicaid

The application for Medicaid will likely be one of the most rigorous challenges a family will face in the process of obtaining long term care for a loved one.  The list of documentsinbox.jpg (10930 bytes) required just to begin the application is often enough to frighten people away.  Scores of financial details must be coordinated so that the patient does not become disqualified.  And yet, a successful Medicaid application can protect a family from the financial devastation that can come as the staggering medical and long term care costs begin to pile up.   The capable, experienced staff at SENIOR PLACEMENT SERVICES can guide you and your family through the entire Medicaid application process from beginning to end.

A one to one family consultation will allow SENIOR PLACEMENT SERVICES to counsel the patient and family regarding eligibility.
If a matter requires legal expertise, a referral can be made to an elder law attorney.  Often, families believe their loved one is not eligible, when in fact, many times they are.  Don't abandon Medicaid as an option until you have spoken to a qualified professional!
Once eligibility is determined, a qualified staff member will assist the family in collecting documentation, will complete the Medicaid application properly, and then represent the family at the personal interview.
Finally, she will follow up with the county worker until the case is approved.
SENIOR PLACEMENT SERVICES currently works with all Medicaid offices in Nassau, Suffolk, New York City and Westchester counties.
